Day 1 Arrive Bhuj

 

The Great Rann Of Kutch- SIGHTSEEING

The Great Rann of Kutch is a salt marsh located in the Thar Desert in the Kutch District of Gujarat, India. It is about 7500 sq km in area and is reputed to be one of the largest salt deserts in the world. This area has been inhabited by the Kutchi people. 

 

Day 2 Kutch

 

Mandvi- SIGHTSEEING

Mandvi is a town with municipality in the Kutch district in the Indian state of Gujarat. It was once a major port of the region and summer retreat for Maharao (king) of the Cutch State. The old city was enclosed in the fort wall and remains of the fort wall can still be seen. The city has a four-hundred-year-old ship building industry, which was started by the caste of Kharva that still builds small wooden ships.

Shri Swaminarayan Mandir- SIGHTSEEING

Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is a temple complex in Bhuj, Kutch district, Gujarat which is managed by Nar Narayan Dev Gadi of the Swaminarayan Sampraday, a sect of Hinduism. The inauguration ceremony of the temple held from 15 to 23 May 2010.

Mandvi Beach- SIGHTSEEING

Mandvi is one of the most popular beach destinations of Kutch and offers awesome view of the sea and the shoreline. Spend time at the clean and tranquil beach, perfect for a weekend getaway. Watch the windmills and birds, take a short camel or horse ride along the beach or simply walk along the soft sand enjoying the foot massage with cool sea water. The beach is a curving stretch of white sand fringed by blue waters, with the sunset pavilion and an uninterrupted view of the sea in front. The sea is safe for swimming and other sports like volleyball. It also offers multi cuisine restaurant, serving Indian, Continental and Chinese fare as well as the local flavours. 

 

Day 3 Kutch

Kalo Dungar (Black Hills)- SIGHTSEEING

Kalo Dungar, the top of the Black Hills is the highest point in Kutch, at 462 m. It offers jaw dropping view of the entire region, especially the Rann and the Indo-Pak border. The highland is one of the most popular tourist places to visit in Kutch and hiking activity is only recommended for professionals. There is also the site of a 400 year old temple of Dattatreya, three-headed incarnation of Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. Reaching the hilltop by hiring a jeep from Khavda is good option. Visiting in the early morning or late afternoon is recommended, though with a few more hours there are nice hikes to do around the hill. Be sure to take own food and water.

 

Day 4 Departure Kutch

Kutch Museum- SIGHTSEEING

Kutch Museum is the oldest museum in Gujarat, founded in 1877 by Maharao Khengarji. It has the largest existing collection of Kshatrapa inions, extinct Kutchi and an interesting collection of coins. The stunning building is constructed in a typical Italian Gothic style of architecture by the mistris of Kutch. There are 11 major galleries in the museum namely picture gallery, archaeological section, textiles section, anthropological section, weapons section, music instruments section, shipping section, and stuffed animals section. A portion of the museum is devoted to tribal cultures, with many examples of ancient artifacts, folk arts and crafts and information about tribal peoples. The museum also has exhibits of embroidery, paintings, arms, musical instruments, sculpture and precious metalwork. 

Bhujodi- SIGHTSEEING

Bhujodi is a major textile center of Kutch, with the vast majority of the 1200 inhabitants involved in textile handicraft production.
